This page describes what AI Coding Interviewer stores about you, why, and for how long. In short: your interviews are kept so you can see your history, they are sent to an AI provider to run the interview, and page views are counted without cookies or personal data.

Your account

When you open the app you get an anonymous account automatically, identified by a random id. It has no name or email. If you sign in with an email address, Google, or GitHub, the account is upgraded in place and your email address (and, for Google or GitHub, your name and profile picture) is stored with it. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase.

Anonymous accounts that have not been used for 30 days and have no saved work are deleted.

Your interviews

Work in progress (code, design documents, notes, and the conversation) is saved in your browser's local storage as you go, so a reload does not lose it. When you finish an interview, the final code or design document, the conversation, and the feedback are saved to your account so you can see them later and on other devices. Behavioral answers can be saved to your story bank.

We also record each AI request and code run with its model, token counts, and estimated cost (not its content). This enforces daily usage limits and tells us what the service costs to run.

The AI provider

To run the interview, your messages, code, design documents, and interview context are sent to OpenAI, which generates the interviewer's replies, reviews, and feedback. With voice turned on, your recorded audio is sent to OpenAI for transcription, and the interviewer's replies are sent for speech. Audio is processed in memory and is not stored by us. OpenAI handles this data under its API data policies.

Running your code

Code you run is executed in an isolated sandbox with no network access and is discarded when the run ends.

Sharing

Nothing is public unless you create a share link. A public result link shows only the scores or verdict, the problem or level, and the date. It never shows your code, conversation, or written feedback, and you can revoke it. Other share links carry their content inside the link itself, so anyone you give the link to can see what it contains.

Page views

We count visits to this site and the app without cookies. For each page view we store the page, the site that linked to it, and any campaign tags in the link. To count unique visitors per day, we store a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, mixed with a random value that changes every day and is then deleted. We never store your IP address, and the hash cannot be linked to you or to your visits on other days. Browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted.

Cookies and local storage

We do not use cookies. The app keeps your sign-in session, preferences, and work in progress in your browser's local storage. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them from your device.

Your choices

You can use the app without giving any personal information. Signing out removes your finished history from this browser; it stays in your account. On the Your data page in the app you can download everything stored about you as a file, or delete your account, which permanently removes it and everything in it, including share links.
